ABC affiliate WMTW in Portland Spring, Maine, reports that 28-year-old Milo resident and ex-Uber driver Joseph Graston has been arrested. He faces charges of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact. Graston is accused of sexually assaulting a woman he picked  up in Bangor while driving for Uber in June of 2022.

The woman had ordered an Uber after she left a nightclub, where she had been drinking. She contacted the police the next morning to report that she had been sexually assaulted. Following an investigation, police identified Graston as their suspect. According to police, Graston was fired from Uber after allegations were made against him.

Graston was taken into police custody on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, and is being held at Penobscot County Jail without bail. While Graston remains in custody, the full scope of his crimes is not clear as police say the investigation is still ongoing.
