Michael Bomberger is a co-founder of Estey & Bomberger. His principal focus is on representing clients with serious life-threatening injuries from a myriad of accidents. In 1994, he and Steve Estey partnered to form Estey & Bomberger, San Diego’s premier personal injury law firm. Mike spent years focusing on bicycle accidents and cases involving traumatic brain injuries. He has co-counseled with Steve on sexual assault cases resulting in jury verdicts of $30 million and $23 million. Mike currently represents a number of survivors who have been victims of sexually assault perpetrated by drivers of the ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft.
Mike has spent more than two decades fighting for his clients. He prides himself on building a solid case and hammers away at the defense until he obtains fair settlements for his client. He recently settled a medical malpractice case for an infant who suffered a brain injury at a San Diego medical facility due to the facility’s negligence. The $20 million settlement was record-breaking in California. Mike also negotiated a $21 million dollar settlement on behalf of several injured victims nationwide who suffered orthopedic injuries from a popular shoe brand. Mike has a depth of knowledge, hard-fought tenacity, thoroughness, sterling integrity and the utmost respect for his clients. His partners, employees, and peers praise him as one of the foremost personal injury attorneys in San Diego. He receives referrals from a great number of his peers due to his ability to achieve positive results where other attorneys cannot.
Mike obtained his B.A. in English and Economics from Bucknell University in 1988 where he was also a nationally ranked division 1 wrestler. He earned his law degree from California Western School of Law in 1992. He also received the American Juris Prudence Award for Legal Skills.
Mike is an expert in personal injuries, damages, and bicycle safety. He is also at the forefront of the new crisis of sexual assaults perpetrated on female passengers by ride-share company drivers. Through his work, Mike hopes to bring about change to company policies by focusing on ride-share sexual assault cases.

Mike has been married for 20+ years with four children, including two teenage daughters. This makes his fight against ride-share company driver sexual assaults personal. It is Mike’s hope that through litigation Estey & Bomberger can make an impact on ride sharing companies. These companpanies such as Uber and Lyft need to undertake appropriate government-run background checks in order to remove convicted felons and other undesirable drivers. Ride-share companies need to do more to protect the general public, especially vulnerable women, from violent sexual assaults.
