Vanessa Ratliff is a Senior Paralegal at Estey & Bomberger. With over 28 years of experience at both national and regional law firms, Vanessa has a broad range of civil litigation expertise in both federal and state courts.
Vanessa spent the early years of her career at the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of California. When she switched to the private sector, she was able to hone her litigation and trial practice skills at several San Diego firms, supporting civil litigation in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, complex business, medical malpractice and other matters. In the last decade she has focused on personal injury lawsuits with an emphasis on sexual abuse/assault cases, representing both child and adult victims. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Vanessa understands the impact that this kind of trauma has on victims. Often Vanessa is advocating for her clients beyond the needs of their case, stepping into a greater role to help her clients in everyday life.
Vanessa has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of San Diego and a graduate-level Paralegal Certification from the University of San Diego. She is also a Notary Public. In her spare time, Vanessa loves reading, traveling and cooking.
