Mary Bajo has been an Uber and Lyft sexual assault attorney with Estey & Bomberger since 2011. Her first assignment with Estey & Bomberger was a jury trial where a construction worker had fallen through a roof and suffered various injuries. Her tireless work leads to a $10.7 million jury verdict for the client. She followed this up by being an integral part of a team that obtained a $21 million settlement for consumers injured by a popular shoe brand.
Mary handles all types of serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. Her emphasis is on institutional child sex abuse cases. These cases involve unfortunate children who have been sexually abused by employees and/or volunteers of schools, daycares, after-school programs, sports programs, or the clergy. As part of the Estey & Bomberger team, she has helped to obtain the following jury verdicts and settlements for sex abuse survivors:
- $23 million jury verdict for a young boy molested by his elementary school teacher
- $8 million on behalf of a student who was molested by a teacher at Hacienda La Puente School District
- $6.5 million verdicts for two teenagers who had been sexually abused by their sponsor at a drug rehabilitation facility
Mary is driven by the positive impact her advocacy has on behalf of her clients, especially in the case of children. She was a panelist on the topic of “Sexual Solicitation, Misconduct & Abuse of Students by School Personnel: Challenges, Resources & Recommendations” as part of the 22nd International Summit on Violence, Abuse & Trauma.
Mary is also part of the Estey & Bomberger team representing sexual assault survivors of Uber and Lyft drivers. Mary’s experience has given her insight and fostered understanding, compassion, and concern. This helps put her clients at ease when going through the difficult times following such unwelcome events.
